our vision.
Growing something greener, together.
The Joli Green Project is a community-driven initiative to transform the heart of Jolimont Primary School — our tired, concrete courtyard — into a vibrant green space where kids can learn, play, explore and connect with nature.
What started as an idea more than 10 years ago is now taking root, thanks to passionate parents, committed staff, and the support of our wider community.
Why We're Doing This
Our school deserves an outdoor space that reflects the energy, curiosity and joy of our students. The new courtyard will include more shade, softer surfaces, natural play zones, and sustainable design that invites imagination and connection.
This isn't just landscaping — it's legacy-building.
What Our Students Want
Common Themes Across Every Year Level
🌳 Shade and Shelter – especially from sails and trees
🪑 More Seating – for relaxing, chatting, and learning
🐦 Native Plants – to attract birds and support biodiversity
🧭 Winding Walkways – accessible paths that connect all areas
♿ Disability Access – inclusion built into every corner
Their imaginations and insights are the heart of the design.
Where We're Headed
A Clear Path Forward
To bring the Joli Green Project to life, we’re moving forward with:
Student Consultation Team – finalising the concept
School + P&C Working Together – driving fundraising, approvals, and parent engagement
Partnering with Programmed Facility Management – for tender and build
Construction Timeline – aiming for a build during the summer holidays, ready by Term 1 in 2026
